History was made on Sunday (February 9) when the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl.
The Eagles pulled off a dominant 40-22 win against the Kansas City Chiefs to become this year's Super Bowl champions. Sunday's win marked the second Super Bowl victory in franchise history and star quarterback Jalen Hurt's first.
Eagles Assistant Performance Coach Autumn Lockwood made history on Sunday as the first Black female coach to earn a Super Bowl win. Lockwood is no stranger to accomplishing historic feats. In 2023, Lockwood became the first Black woman to coach in the Super Bowl. The 2023 Super Bowl saw the Eagles lose to the Chiefs 38-35.
After receiving a master's degree in sports management at East Tennessee State, Lockwood began her coaching journey in 2021 as the director of sports performance at the University of Houston. The Pennsylvania native went on to become the assistant director of basketball sports performance at East Tennessee State before joining the Eagles as a strength and conditioning coach in 2022.
Lockwood was named the Eagles' assistant performance coach during the 2023 offseason. She is now etched in Super Bowl history as its first Black woman coach.
