Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles revealed that three masked men stole her Porsche GTS from her Chicago-area home during the final months she and her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, lived in the area.
Biles shared the revelation in a TikTok video Monday (September 21) while discussing plans to buy a new car. She said the men came to their home and took the luxury vehicle.
“I feel like I need a new car because during our last few months in Chicago, three men in masks came to our house and stole my Porsche. Stole the GTS,” Biles said.
Biles said the Porsche was eventually recovered, but she decided she wanted a new vehicle. She did not provide the exact date or location of the theft, and authorities have not publicly confirmed additional details.
NBC News reported that Chicago police could not provide an incident report when contacted.
The gymnast also said the incident contributed to her decision to get a Doberman Pinscher for the home.
“The things that happen to me are absolutely insanity,” Biles said in the video, adding that she feels like she needs a reality TV show.
Owens previously played safety for the Chicago Bears before joining the Indianapolis Colts. Biles and Owens have since left the Chicago area as he continues his NFL career with Indianapolis.
Biles said she is looking forward to getting her new car and suggested she may share more details about the theft in a future “storytime.”
