Protests against immigration raids and President Donald Trump's mobilization of the National Guard and the Marines in Los Angeles have spread nationwide.
According to CBS News, protests have broken out in several cities, including Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas, Spokane, Portland, and New York, with demonstrators chanting on the streets and carrying signs against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Most of the protests have been peaceful, but some demonstrators have clashed with police, which has led to hundreds of arrests.
In Seattle, police said they intervened in a march when a group of people set a dumpster on fire on Wednesday (June 11). Police added that individuals "confronted them, throwing bottles, rocks, and concrete chunks at them."
"A protestor threw a large firework at officers, but no one was injured. Police issued dispersal orders and moved the crowd out of the area (and made) eight arrests for assault and obstruction."
That same day, multiple arrests were made in Manhattan amid another protest against ICE raids.
Dozens of protestors demonstrated outside the Portland ICE facility late Wednesday night, creating a barricade in front of the building.
In Las Vegas, hundreds of people protested outside the federal courthouse downtown. Police issued a dispersal order and declared an unlawful assembly "due to protestors engaging in illegal activity."
Over 30 people were arrested in Spokane, Washington on Wednesday amid anti-ICE protests. Authorities said they arrived at the scene of the protest, declaring it unlawful and issuing a dispersal order. Mayor Lisa Brown declared a state of emergency and issued a 9:30 p.m. - 5 a.m. curfew.
In Los Angeles, a group of people gathered near the federal buildings in downtown were taken into custody 20 minutes after curfew.
Activists said more demonstrations are scheduled across the country to coincide with Trump's military parade through Washington, D.C. this weekend.
